Handmade in France
Handmade by Stephanie
Stephanie started making clay scrub stones six years ago. Based in France, she makes this scrubbing stone accessory with her team in her own workshop.
After meeting her in one of our shops, her approach and natural accessory convinced us. Stephanie offer this original "doughnut" shape" on which we added a ribbon so you can hang it up in your bathroom!
In your zero waste routine, this stone will leave the skin on your body and face smooth and purified.
Clay, a natural and local raw material
This stone is entirely natural, made with French clay, free from any chemicals.
This raw material is known for its many virtues: it cleans, softens, and moisturises the skin. It also has soothing properties to reduce itching and can relieve mosquito or insect bites.
It is ideal for all types of skin: dry, oily, normal, and sensitive. This soft and safe body scrub stone repairs and calms irritated skin. It will leave your skin smooth and soft, ready to be moisturised.
A handmade claystone
Our stone can be found in different colours, varying from beige to pink depending on production. Each piece is unique and handmade with care.
The methods used are very specific. First, a paste is made using water and clay. This mixture is then pressed to obtain this original "doughnut" shape. After leaving them to dry for two days, the stones are trimmed with water to soften the shape and once again dried. They are then cooked at a very hot temperature. Before being ready to use, the finishing touches are done by hand to accentuate their porous nature.
A multi-use scrubbing claystone for a full-body care
This claystone is ideal for a gentle scrub, without irritating your skin. This natural stone can be used on your body and face and will leave your skin nice and soft. It removes dead skin as well as calluses, often found on heals, elbows, knees, or hands.
As well as removing impurities, this claystone is ideal to prepare your skin for various skin care (hair removal for example) and makes it easier for your skin to absorb moisturisers. This scrubbing stone can also be used on sensitive areas where cellulite is apparent.
On your face, this stone will help to tighten pores and limit sebum excess, but still being gentle enough to protect the skin's hydrolipidic layer.
This natural stone also helps to remove stains (paint, pen, etc.) as well as body and food smells.
A zero waste and multi-purpose accessory
To use along with our cosmetics, our olive oil soap for example, our cleaning and scrubbing stone is a sustainable solution as it lasts forever. It won't degrade in time and can therefore be used for many years.
It will help you avoid using scrubs packed in plastic tubes, scrubs with microplastics, or certain irritating sponges.
This clay exfoliating stone is natural and zero waste. Packed in a paper bag, it will allow you to thoroughly and naturally clean your skin, without producing any waste.
How to use a clay pebble?
Apply some soap on your body, where you wish to exfoliate. Then, dampen the scrub and gently apply the stone on your skin with circular movements, adjusting the pressure depending on your sensitivity. This natural clay stone can also be used by children. However, we recommend assisting young children so they don't get hurt.
We recommend avoiding sensitive body parts, such as your neck, around your eyes or on damaged skin.
You can adjust how often you use depending on your skin and your needs! You can use it every day on your body, however we recommend spacing out scrubs on sensitive skin. For your face, it is best to use it once or twice a week to avoid irritating your skin.
How to take care of your claystone?
After having used it, leave the stone to dry and hook it up with its GOTS-certified ribbon, handmade in France.
To clean and take good care of your clay scrub stone, we recommend cleaning it once a month. You can do so with some white vinegar diluted in water. If the stone receives a shock, you can use a sharpening stone to unify its shape.
