MADE IN France
MANUFACTURED IN AN ECO-FRIENDLY WAY
Sustainable manufacturing
Briac and Sylvie, a Breton couple, make ear cleaners with French wood, that thoroughly clean wax at the entrance of the ear canal without damaging the ear.
They have chosen to call it Escurette, a nice name dating back from medieval times. This Escurette is a real ecological swab that avoids ear wax plugs from appearing.
Everything is made in France. Both the handle and the cap are made by Jérémy in a wood-turning workshop in Brittany, and the metal section is made in Normandie.
Safe and eco-friendly materials
Our ear picks' caps and handles are made out of French hornbeam wood. This wood was chosen for its quality and its versatility for woodturning. The hornbeam used comes from the French department Vosges, from forests that are managed sustainably.
The wood used for our eco-friendly ear cleaner is certified PEFC (Pan European Forest Certification), a programme recognising forests’ sustainable management.
Our Escurette is natural, free from dyes, simply waxed (with vegetable oil) to protect it. The metal section is formed of a medical-grade stainless steel (316L) pick, made by a specialised French company located in Normandy.
An environmentally-friendly alternative
Our ear cleaner can be used forever and replaces single-use cotton swabs with plastic handles, which are or will be forbidden in many countries in the years to come.
This law will help to avoid thousands of swabs thrown in water systems and which often end up in nature, on beaches, and in the oceans.
Very economical, you won’t have anything to throw in the bin as our ear wax cleaner doesn’t produce any waste and is reusable. You can now clean your ears in an eco-friendly way!
Easy and practical to use
It is very easy to use our Escurette. You simply need to gently insert the stainless-steel spoon in your ear to remove wax, without pushing it right into your ear.
You don’t need to go any further, wax is there to protect your eardrum, you simply need to remove the visible excess.
Once you have done this, you can clean the metal part of this cleaning tool with our soap, then rinse and dry it.
An eco-friendly swab
Unless otherwise medically prescribed, ears are self-cleaning and usually don't need washing. If you decide to clean your ears with our Escurette, we recommend doing it once or twice a week.
This ear pick can be used as of 3 years old, under adult supervision.
Don’t forget to put the cap back on every time after having used it to keep it nice and clean. We recommend disinfecting the top part before the first use, and then doing this occasionally with white vinegar for example or any other antiseptic.
