Responsible toothbrushes
Discover our range of eco-friendly toothbrushes made in France. We offer two alternatives to reduce our plastic consumption. They replace the classic toothbrush with a plastic handle by a French beechwood handle from sustainably managed forests.
You can choose a rechargeable version with the Caliquo toothbrush, or simply in wood by Bioseptyl (available in adult and child version).

The replaceable head toothbrush by Caliquo
This wooden toothbrush was created as an alternative to single-use ones by Grégoire and Marthe, the founders of Caliquo.
It is replaceable and helps to reduce plastic in our bathroom. The head can be removed and the handle kept in order to reduce your waste.
It has a fully compostable beechwood handle, made from sustainably managed forests in France (Jura).
This is an ethical, ecological, and responsible product.
The toothbrush’s assembly and packing are done by French ESATs (Établissement et service d'aide par le travail). These are facilities helping integration or reintegration of disabled people through work.
The French toothbrush by Bioseptyl
Bioseptyl is the French toothbrush brand. This Beauvais-based factory was established in 1845 and excels in the manufacture of brushwork items.
They made the bet to safeguard the know-how in their region and develop their products on the principle of eco-design.
Their beechwood toothbrush is totally made in France. The wood used for the handle comes from sustainably managed French forests.
Bioseptyl has chosen not to cut trees for the manufacture of their toothbrushes. They recover the "waste", that is to say the wood chips, which should have been thrown away in order to give them a second life in the manufacture of their French toothbrushes.
We offer it in an adult version and a child version (from 3 to 6 years old).
For the two Bioseptyl models (adult and child), the handle is made from recyclable beechwood.
The bristles of the toothbrush are made from a blend of castor (70%) and nylon. These filaments come from Germany.
Eco-friendly toothbrushes
Caliquo's toothbrush heads are recyclable. However, they require to be specifically managed and Terracycle sorts this type of waste.
We have set up collection boxes in our shops in France where you can bring back your old toothbrush heads.
For both toothbrushes, you can compost the handle of your toothbrush. Just remember to cut off the head for the Bioseptyl version.
Packaged in a small compostable cardboard box, they avoid throwing away millions of plastic toothbrushes each year in France.
Bamboo or Beechwood ?
Many wooden toothbrushes are made from bamboo. It is a reasonable ecological alternative. This helps reduce our plastic consumption. However moso bamboo, which is used for these toothbrushes, is only found in Asia.
In France, we have the possibility of using local wood, beechwood. It is the only type of wood authorized for oral hygiene products. From sustainably managed forests, it represents the ecological and French alternative to the classic plastic toothbrush.
